When I was a kid I would either go over the fence or under it!

When I was a kid growing up in California I used to dig holes in the backyard to see how deep I could get, and whether I could climb back out.  I was always told that if I dug far enough down I would get to China or Australia or somewhere.  I never thought that I could end up in Mexico or Canada.  I thought I was ahead of  the times with my tunneling skills.  Well, it seems that tunnels were everywhere in California, and I never knew it.  Now I hear that tunnels are coming from Canada as well as Mexico. (www.cnn.com/2005/US/07/21/border.tunnel/index.html)  So, whomever becomes the next President has a huge burden on their shoulders, not only do we need to build a border fence, but that fence also needs to have cement footings reaching oh, fifty feet into the ground.  Or maybe we can just use the tunnels that we find, to deport our illegal immigrants.  We'll send them all right back to Mexico through tunnels supplied by Mexico.  No one will ever know.

Illegal immigrants continue to make their way into this country daily, under our noses.  I just read another story today of a tunnel with elaborate pumps, lighting and a pulley system which extended from a Mexican town, under the border, to an empty metal storage container in the U.S. set up as a decoy for the illegals to smuggle people, drugs, and old Menudo records into the country.  I never would have thought when I was a kid that if I had only dug a little further down I could have run into one of these tunnels.  Maybe I could have found a buried treasure just like those kids in the Goonies movies.  Or at least a few frijoles.

Why Mitt, Why Now? Evangelicals please reply.

I find it very intersesting that the Evangelical conservative base of America has demanded a religious accounting of Mitt Romney and his beliefs and has not questioned the beliefs of others.  Tell me what religion is Hillary, Obama, Edwards, Guilani, Thompson, McCain, well we know Huckabee is Baptist, but  when did a religious test creep back into our voting?  Why is Mormonism so taboo?  Are the Evangelicals afraid of a Mormon President imposing Mormon Law?  When has that EVER happened in our country's history?  Have things changed so much in this countrty that it doesn't still take a Congress to pass newly appointed law, or have we become a dictatorship?  If anyone can answer these questions for me please do so, I'm dieing to know.  I guess it doesn't matter that we voted 16 Mormons into Congress.  I guess it doesn't matter that the Democratic voice Sen. Harry Reid is Mormon, or that several other U.S. Senators are Mormon.  Or is it that it has never mattered before?  Didn't we vote these people into office based upon merit alone?  I'm stumped and still waiting for some help here...
